Ileana Doble Hernandez

 

 

Ileana Doble Hernandez is a Mexican artist working with photography, video, installation and new media. Last year she graduated from the top-rated MFA in Photography and Related Media program from Rochester Institute of Technology.  An artist and an activist, Ileana believes that art has the power to make people care, she uses her practice to advocate for social issues. In 2019, works from her Thesis Project "My Dear Americans" were shown as part of the small-venue biennial exhibition "Current Seen" at Visual Studies Workshop, and later at “Photography and Politics” at Flower City Arts Center, in Rochester, NY. Her works have been exhibited in more than 50 group exhibitions in United States, United Kingdom, France, South Korea and Mexico, including SPE National, SPE Northeast, Rencontres d'Arles, CICA Museum, Carnegie Museum of Art and Danforth Art Museum.

Due to her artistic and academic achievements, Doble Hernandez is the recipient of several awards, in 2019 she was selected as the RIT College of Art and Design Outstanding Graduate Student. Her works are part of public and private collections. Ileana lives in Baltimore, MD with her husband, their son, their dog and their cat.
