Amy Thompson Avishai

 

 

Amy Thompson Avishai is known for her sensitive and nuanced portrayals of the human condition and the natural world. Her images have appeared in The New York Times, The Women’s Review of Books and several other publications.

A Fulbright fellow, Amy has taught photography at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, the Griffin Museum of Photography and Endicott College.

A featured photographer in National Geographic, her photographs have been recognized with numerous national and international awards and have been exhibited in group and solo shows from Boston to Berlin.

Amy has lived in North Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America. In 2018, Amy moved to western Massachusetts and began teaching mindfulness and photography workshops. Her mindfulness practice began in 2003 while photographing in Cambodia.
